You're Not "Just" a Mother

You're Not "Just" a Mother

Driving in the van, the familiar tune "Mary, Did You Know?" came on.

Mary did you know that your baby boy will one day walk on water? Mary did you know that your baby boy will save our sons and daughters? Did you know that your baby boy has come to make you new? This child that you’ve delivered, will soon deliver you.
— Mary, Did You Know?

Mary's motherhood is nothing but extraordinary:
carrying our Savior for 9 months,
going through labor in a staple,
and raising the Savior into a grown man.
It's easy to see that her mothering was special.

You may say, well my kids are not the Savior.
So, I'm just an ordinary mother.
Friend, you cannot be more wrong.

Every precious child you care for is a beautiful soul God has created.
Just like how God had a great plan for Jesus to fulfill on this Earth,
He also has a great plan for YOUR CHILD to fulfill on this Earth.

“Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever believes in me will also do the works that I do; and greater works than these will he do, because I am going to the Father.”
— John 14:12

Your children can do works GREATER than what Jesus did.
How crazy is that?!!
Mama, your job as a caretaker and nurturer for your children MUST NOT be discredited or minimized.
You are important.
What you do MATTERS.

You are preparing your children for all the things God has in store for them.
That alone never makes you "just" a mother.
